Randall Kaufman's American Nymph Tying Manual has some great tips. I am
inclined these days to sift through magazines and pick up on tying
techniques from their articles. If I find an article that is of special
interest I purchase the magazine. I am inclined to believe there are no
incorrect tying techniques. If a method that you use, gives you the desired
results then it is correct. I have seen several tyers use methods that are
not orthodox but the end result is a beautifully tyed fly that serves their
needs. Tying flies is alot like painting a picture. Two artists might paint
the same subject, one uses acrylic paint the other uses water colour.
Neither one is wrong.

Subject: [VFB] Question about Nymph Book
>
> Hello everyone,
> I'm looking to purchase a nymph tying book, and was looking for
suggestions. I have numerous pattern encyclopedias and such, namely the FFF
Pattern Encyclopedia, but I'm looking more for a book aimed specifically at
the art of Nymph tying. I've been doing it my way for as long as I can
remember (since i started tying when 8 or 9 years old, so 16 or 17 years?),
but I'm curious what the "correct" techniques are.
> On a different, off-topic, and somewhat humerous note, I finally planned
out all of the details for my upcoming honeymoon (getting married Aug 7th)
to Scotland. It's *SO* tempting to bring a fly-rod along! :)
