Title: Beach - Was Re: [VFB] Tides Question

I honestly don't understand the logic there either.  We get a strong rip tide current at times near the town beach also so that was my first thought.    If you're just floating on a floatation device though it will carry you out rather quickly.   I had life jackets on my kids and they made me remove them.
I don't think they have the same rules at other beaches.  I know some of my neighbors travel farther away so they can use boogie boards and such.  I would much rather they could use floaties and life preservers and I could just "watch" them myself!  What a unique concept?!   Each year we do have kids that disappear at the beach though because their parents aren't watching them.
I was holding onto my son when they told me I had to remove his life jacket????  So go figure???

The local beach doesn't allow life preservers or floatation devices because the tide will just pick up the kids and carry them out.

Say WHAT????  It's better to drown them immediately instead of giving them a chance to live??????

Hmmmm.  I have some problems seeing the logic in that rule.

WAIT A MINUTE!  I got it now.  They're closer in so it's easier to recover their corpses.

(???)
