Don't give up on your favorite spot because of some drunks..do them and everyone else a favor and report the incident next time.  I did this once, it took four 3 hour visits to court, but one was sent up for 3 months, and lots of probation for the rest.  They probably were always bullies even in school, now they are just drunk ones, but this is also the same group who cause accidents and also a certain percentage of them drown each year in boating accidents.  Its just taking some control, without you personally doing the foot work, if you have a camera photos work well.

Years ago I was told that Sun and water mix, Sun and booze mix, but water and booze don't mix except in a proper glass at the proper time.

It was going good until we hit the stump and the canoe flipped.  Luckily only 3 feet of water but I am not sure who was more scared.
The left in a hurry and I had to bail out the canoe.
