Swannundaze, a real fad during its time (late 70's or early 80's), went through an evolution just as a lot of other synthetics did. At first it was a flat oval about a sixteenth wide in a few generic colors, some opaque and some clear. Then came different sizes and more colors, along with a better defined 'D' cross-section. This shape looked more like segmentation. It could be stretched a little, but it took away from its durability. This lasted for a little while and then someone came out with a smaller and softer v-section ribbing and a fine tubing called Larva Lace, which I think is still around today. I remember all of the hoopla about larva lace, with pulling different materials through the clear-colored tubing or filling them with cooking oil before wrapping.
Then it all just went away. I still sport a box of flies all tied with Swannundaze, d-rib, and Larva-Lace. Is this Swannundaze similar to V-rib or to larva-lace in any way? I have both if anyone wishes for either, but I've never had Swannundaze. > -Pete > > ________________________________________________________________ > The best thing to hit the Internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! > Surf the Web up to FIVE TIMES FASTER! > Only $14.95/ month - visit www.juno.com to sign up today! >
