I actually have one of Charles' flys. He tied it for me last year. Best I can tell from looking at the fly is... Dry fly hook Brown hackle fiber for the tail. Krienik metalic for the body. ( I would use  red, white and blue.) White wing , split and figure eighted. ( looks like a stiff hackle or real thin calf tail. ) Brown hackle wound around the back of the upright wings about four times and twice in front. He used a bright red thread.   If you would like to see it, I will take a photo of it and send it to you. You should have tied Charles Meck's "Patriot" fly for the President.  Speaking of which, does anyone have a materials list of this fly?  I'd like to tie a few this week and try them out next weekend.   Murf
