I recieved a Sony Cybershot 3.2 megapixel digital camera for christmas and I love it. There arnt too many buttons to confuse me(or you) and it's point, zoom, shoot. The picture then gets displayed briefly on the big screen. It is very easy to operate. As for connecting to the computer to upload, it couldnt be easier!! Simply plug a small wire into a USB port, and into the camera, turn the camera on, and it starts for you automatically.
As for close up pictures, this bad boy can ZOOM. I was taking pictures of cicada's a few weeks ago and got so close to them that you can count the "hairs" on their legs. It was creepy. I dont think it could zoom up close enough to take a picture of a size 32, and I'm not sure how hans does so, but it does take good quality pics of flies. Same with your golf clubs.
As for memory cards, it uses a basic MemoryStick. I can hold 150 very high quality pictures on my memory card, or upwards of 500 low quality(perfect for desktops, screen savers, pictures of: people landscapes things that dont need to show detail) pictures.
I think the rents payed 200-300 dollars for this camera, it includes the camera, the USB link up, an RCA adaptor so it hooks up to the video/audio inputs for your TV for very easy display on the big screen(making that dink you caught look even bigger), rechargeable batteries(2 AA), a battery recharger, the camera, and a 16MB Memory stick. As well as an instruction manual. The batteries last for a very long while, too. I've only had them die on me once, and I think that's because I left it on one night by accident, showing off pictures to friends in florida.
If you would like to see some sample pictures from this camera, please ask and I will send some to you offlist. hope this helps!
-Eddie
