Pete we only shocked about 100 feet of the stream.
In my opinion I am not sure it is really necessary.
This was my first and last trip, I was convened that it was for the
betterment of the fishing.
Hey I can look and count the black darting 
little guys and give you a pretty good idea. 
We lost 20 fish out of 200.
I had signed up as a volunteer for FRVC
And this was my first day.

Electrofishing! I loved doing that stuff, but you have to be careful or you
burn the fish bad... caught my largest (of only 2 ever) palomino with
electrofishing!  It takes away the fun of the fly, though, but for research
it's great.  Also great for kick sienes, as it's not exclusive to the big
ol'fish, but does the lil' ones and nymphs also.
