Well, Amanda and I took a jaunt this morning, 14 miles round trip. We went
in at the refuge about a mile from the house, drove the river north looking
at the water and trying to find a place to get in. Salt Cedars were so thick
you could not even see the river. About 5 miles down we started finding
some thinning spots, water was low and a deep rust brown from the rains and
run off. Wasn't even worth rigging up. We traveled all the way north
checking as we went to the power line road. No way to fish it now. We
decided to try maybe tomorrow or Monday down below the dam. The are
releasing water so the river should be up. Never know till we try.
