Wes,
Do you have a site that shows the
distinction? I just checked my trout book and it shows the Dolly as s.
malma,
but also says the alternate local
names are bull trout, red spotted trout, and a few char names. There is no
additional entry for the bull trout. It's a fairly recent book, 1963, so I would
like to see some bull trout information.
A few years ago, I caught a very silvery trout on
the N. Platte. It went around 5 lbs., and like Bill's trout, it was a
whale of a fighter. It did not look like a rainbow, brown, cutt, or any
other trout I'm familiar with. It was silver-white top to bottom and
covered with black spots. I was told it was a different strain of brown
trout. Are you familiar with it? I can send you a
photo.
