Brain Talk about getting scared to death, last weekend on our way out to the flat where the Seatrout were, we were traveling along in the canoe about 5:30 AM still a bit dark out, when we went right over the top of a sleeping manatee, it woke up in a very startled state and took off right out from under the canoe, I thought for a minute we were going to get tipped over, the river was like glass and very quiet at the time until that manatee blasted out of there, man o live you want to talk about getting scared, scared me half to death. The river was low so not  many fish about, I managed one of about 1LB in weight and we all caught plenty of salmon par on small flies so the river looks to be in a healthy condition good signs for the future.   One night I was fishing from a rock ledge about 5 feet above the water when a sea trout of about 7 or 8 pounds leapt out of the water right under my feet and scared me half to death. I left him there so I something to try and catch next year or that's my excuse   Tight lines Birdie
