Don, Just finished with the line... and now wondering about one thing. You are probably familiar with other products like these.
I have a little problem (okay okay, maybe more than one). My 50/50 Icelander-Swede blood is a rather northern mix... and it doesn't make me appreciate summer as much as many other do. But maybe this can be something. This bottle of silicone/teflone/"other smelly additionals" says that it will protect the line from sunshine. After a sunny day at the lake I always look like a tomato, and for days I will feel like my skin is on fire. Can this product be something... since it protects the line? (And with the silicone, maybe it will give me nice sexy lips.) If you apply it with a cloth, as long as you don't get excess stuff on the line, you can probably spool it up. But pulling it through a dry piece of cloth just to remove any excess might not be a bad idea. There's a chemist or two on the list, and I'd be curious as to how silicone would be for chemistry on the plastic coating on lines. Best I can tell you. I don't fly fish.
