Jimi, You've hit on something that separates the professional comercial flytier from the rest. One of the attributes of a good professional tier is the ability to make any number required of identical and correctly size-proportioned flies. This is not as easy as it seems, nor is it a skill achieved overnight. It takes organization, patience, a good eye, skill, and persistence. If you can tie 1, 2, 3 dozen flies all so identical you can't tell one from another, you have what it takes. If you can change sizes and do the same thing, you have what it takes. It takes more than that, and Joyce can probably add a lot to what I said as far as details.
Iffin ya don't, that's okay too. Experimentation, creativity, and innovation is how all those flies came to be in the first place.
