Hi Murf,

Funny you should mention that about the shelves on top I just thought about I today as I went to my book shelve to get a book with salmon patterns for a Danish salmon river called Skjern, I need to tie some flies up for a week-end trip in 2 weeks. I ned to make room for my fly tying books on top of the desk for sure.

Looks pretty good.  I like that you have a flip and retreat cover for your desk instead of a roll over cover.  I think it will be less trouble in the long term.  How about adding a couple of open shelves on top for fly fishing/tying books, tapes and picture frames of the family and fishing?  I always like to use vertical space as my house is a bit cramped with all of our stuff from raising 5 kids and 2 grandkids.
