[VFB] Mixing/ making dubbing??

Thought I would toss this out to the dubbing gurus and those more experience
tiers who have mixed their own dubbing. I am trying to figure a way to mix
various natural and synthetic fibers to attain a particular color. I don't
have a coffee grinder and I don't have any of the carding brushes often
referred to. Is there a poor boys way of doing it so I can experiment until
I get the color/  texture I want? This will be in fairly small batches until
I get it right.
