Hi all,
I'm back from an awesome fishing trip to the Lil Le Hi River (creek?) in Allentown,
PA, USA. Quite a stream they have there, with a hatchery to spare. These fish are
very very finnicky - they did the "sniff and swim" to me all day, until a 21 1/2"
rainbow beauty (obviously a hatchery one, looking at the size and the fins) took a #16
EGD-FW. Several little BWO's coming off with even more of the same nymphs floating
around. It wasn't a hatch in the glorious sense, but there were a few dozen that came
off in the course of a few hours... The emerger naturals were being taken, but I was
unfortunately unprepared for that bug - closest thing was a #22 adams, but the
naturals were a much more olive-looking body. All in all a great trip! Besides the
large rainbow, had two "long distance releases" of browns, both snapping the leader,
on #18 PMD dries. I forget the name of the pattern, but they're mostly yellow... I'd
write more, but I need to get out the door to visit the in-laws. Hope everyone is
having a great weekend,
Tight wraps,
Pete
