You're right Don. Pictures, music etc. are hard to compress due to the density of information in the file. I tried just now to see what it would do to a *pdf file. The first mess file (3.75Mb) was zipped down to (3.72Mb). The one we got the other day (533Kb) was zipped down to 482Kb. Smaller... but not that radical.
