a spey rod is a two handed salmon fly rod, usually between 13 and 18 feet 
long, rated for #10 to #12 lines,  used to distance cast large heavy flies 
on the largest rivers.  they take practice to achieve their full distance 
casting.

Can someone explain to me what a Spey Rod is? Is it kind of like an "Ugly 
Stick" for bass?
