There are no "BEST blanks as far as I am concerned. The best blank is the one that suits you. My "best" blank cost me 17.00. It is a blem. It is my favorite rod and the one that casts the best for me. I have had two other name brand blanks that I made up for myself, one is too soft and the other too stiff. I gave the soft one away, the stiff one is in the tube on the rack collecting dust .
I have test cast some rods for a small rod making company. Personally, I don't think I have cast nicer rods. These rods are are not on the expensive list either. Allan, you know who I mean
