Pete & all interested,
Perhaps I can answer this one.
Coch-y-bondu' is an old color from England I think. It is similar to the
furnace/gold & silver badger but has speckling of black out into the barbs.
They are very beautiful and I do not think anyone can sucessfuly breed for
them. They just happen and seldom seen on the market. I sell all I produce
as soon as they are processed. None for sale at this time.
I would go along with your friends advise and use furnace or Silver badger
or Gold badger. All 3 will work. Easier than trying to find the C-Y-B.

> Hey all,
> Question for the group - I found an older pattern (1920's timeframe)
which say to use 'Coch-y-bondu' hackle. What is this? A fishing buddy said
to use furnace, but my curiousity is peaked... inquiring minds and such...
