Ray,
I have a bunch of old Mustad hooks in the odd number sizes 13, 15 and
17. If interested, I can look up the numbers, seems that 947 4 rings a bell.

I've been fortunate enough to be doing some work for a widow of an

(the Mustads anyway) One question involves the mustad 9174 which is
the number I've had on my boxes in sizes 4 and 8 they are "egg hooks",
he had a box of hooks numbered 9471 #12's called "spider hooks" they
look exactly the same except smaller. So my question is does anyone
know which number it should be 9174 or 9471?
Next (and this is new to me if the numbers are right) he also had
Tiemco hooks number 102Y in sizes 15,16 and 17. Could those sizes be
right? I didn't realize hooks came in odd number sizes, or were these
just marked wrong?
Thanks for any info on these questions,
Ray Gattus Sr.
BTW, I'm reading the new FlyTyer magazine and it has an article on
picture framing your favorite flies which I am working on now from all
the "Grey Ghosts" that were sent to me!
