I also have, by comparison, a Griffin Odessy, Montana Mongoose, Traveler, etc so have tried them all. As Deb said, you either love it or hate it. I, personally, could not tie without it nor the automatic bobbine. But, I did not pull the thread out as they suggest, rather just put a hackle pliers on it each time I finish a fly and thus waste no thread. I'd suggest you see if you can try one first, with the automatic bobbin and find out how it works for you. Hans hated it..I love it as does Larry Johnson. There is a video that you can get from <A href="http://www.nor-vise.com">http://www.nor-vise.com</A> and you might want to order that ( a 10.00 expenditure I believe) and see all the things that the vise can do. As previously stated, I really love mine..works perfectly =
