Anybody tried the Whiting Fly Tyer's variety pack? It runs about $10.
It looks pretty interesting. As one who doesn't have much whiting
hackle I thought it might be an interesting thing to try out. I
realize it's suited best for bass, streamers & saltwater flies but
that's what I use for the most part. Any thoughts about it? Byard,
will you be carrying them?
Ken (in Florida)
Hi Ken...
I'd be happy to order the variety packs for all those who might be
interested. I purposely opted to not stock them because they were
primarily designed to target the big box stores.
For those of you who normally buy capes and saddles etc...what you
have left over after you've used them for a while is what you will
find in the variety packs. Actually it's an excellent marketing
scheme...let's sell the stuff we normally throw in the dumpster...;^)
We all do pretty much the same thing...after we've used all the sweet
spots on a cape, we just can't bring ourselves to throw away what we
know we'll never use! That's why we all have closets full of feathers.
All kidding aside...there is actually plenty of usable material in
there and it is well worth the ten bucks. And once again, I'd be
happy to order them for anyone who would like one.
