Jerry: Thanks, that was my thoughts, that they didn't have to , or need to be all perfect, just that the guy (John Perry) in the DVD I have, gets em so even with little effort. i agree with you that I think the tails should have a little taper to them..Seems like they would look more natural in the water, just like when marabou gets wet it comes to a point on the end... Chuck

Chuck:
Look at the positive side, your flies will smell good with that baby powder.  I might be wrong, but I don't think you'll ever get all your tips even.  I know I don't.  In fact I want a bit of a taper in my deer hair wings.  One suggestion, don't over load your stacker.  If I'm building a deer hair fly, like a Muddler.  I want the tips to be uneven and flare on the first piece I stack and spin.  After the first bunch, I trim the tips off before stacking and spinning.  Just my preference on how to do it.

Folks: I am having really bad problems with my hair stacker when using any hair finer than, say Elk hair... I tap it repeatedly on the table, and like my DVD said.. I put a little baby powder on the hair stacker sides and even on the hair, but I still get uneven ends on hair that is not stiff... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance, Chuck
