We just returned from a month in France where we rented a car for the entire
month. Gas cost about $6.33 (US) per gallon. However, the cars are small and
get excellent mileage. We drove about 3000 miles and it was very economical.
American car manufactures need to learn how to scale back the size of cars
and increase mileage. Funny thing is the rest of the world can do it. We
have been spoiled with low gas prices. Personally I drive a Honda that gets
35 miles per gallon and learned to coordinate my trips years ago during the
Nixon years (remember those gas lines). Sometimes it just requires a kick in
the wallet to get people to do something.
High gas prices haven't limited my fishing, I just coordinate fishing trips
with other errands.

Rene told me a year ago that gas was $4.00 per liter in Cologne, Germany.
3.785 liters = 1 Gallon. Kinda puts things in perspective for us Yanks,
