I just had to know. After my research it seems the
Pacific sargassum is mainly rooted, a different variety from the Atlantic
floating species which forms the infamous sargasso sea. So they do have sargasso
algae in the sea of cortez.
"Species of Sargassum are
found in many parts of the world. Marine Algae of California (Abbott and
Hollenberg) shows some species that extend from California down to Baja
California.

Feather. To a newbie fly tier, that was heaven. I bought
quite a few old back issues of magazines and I found out some of you guys on
this list are famous. I bought one of Tim Borski's videos and he
uses "craft fir". Is that something you can find at a fabric
store and is all craft fir made from material that is good for fly
