I know this is a late response, I have been in Fla again trying to help my mom and bring her back up to NY,just got back and seeing 749 emails to read finally got to the origin of this one. Two years ago I considered buying a bike to save gas. I even had a friend who owned a brand new Honda Shadow. Man, that was so cool driving that around, showed me how to drive and even was ready to take the test for it. In NY you need a different license to drive a motorcycle. Tossed it around for awhile, I knew my wife was against me doing this and she even said she would not ride with me,,,no matter what. That may have helped me make up my mind, but I knew a few members of my family that died in accidents with them and they were experienced drivers. I am not saying that I would not be safe out there driving, but I do think now a days (and maybe even back then) I do not think there is a good enough respect for motorcycle drivers. I see to many drivers not giving the clearance for them and actually not even for cars. Today there are just to many people rushing to places and not truely paying enough attention to the roads and people around them for un-experienced motorcycle drivers to get out there. I realize for myself, maybe for local driving it would be great, but then again, I am just 51 and probably going through one of those wannabe stages in my life,,,hahahahahahaaa. So I guess I will stick to driving my Grey Ghost Van and stay on top of things.
