I paid AU$11.00 yesterday for cicada winging material for New Zealand. I could not believe it. It must have been 4in by 8in. I couldn't believe my eyes!!! What a crock!!
I would be interested in receiving info on any methods people have for making wings. The one below will definitely get a try. In other words, it doesn't keep it's color... Has anyone else had > this problem?????? Just buy a Chartpac or Pantone marker from Michael's or other craft store and with a couple of swipes, reapply the color you want. There is a full range of light greens, greys and warm tones. A note: I have stopped buying any plastic type winging materials like Medallion Sheeting and just make my own. Find a plastic sheet of appropriate weight, pull the plastic across a medium grit foam sandpaper block until you get the veining pattern you want in the wing. If you want it colored, apply the Pantone marker. Cheap and effective. Wes Wada Bend, Oregon
