Of course, you could always try using soap to attach the shadow. That's what Peter was trying when Wendy woke up - maybe it would work better for you.
Fishing related: I was in Reno last weekend and managed to make it out to the Truckee River for a few hours. It was blowing really strong (30mph with gusts to 50 - according to the radio). Although it was less down on the river, it was still a challenge. I managed to hook a couple small trout (about 7") - probably part of the batch of 40k they had just stocked - and had several other hits which I missed. Used a red fox squirrel hair nymph. It was a lot of fun. What was weird was when it suddenly became perfectly calm for about a half hour at 6:15pm. The fish started rising and, of course, I couldn't find the right pattern so hooked nothing. Then the wind came back up and it was back to nymphs. I found out about this park on the Truckee only a few miles from our hotel when I stopped by The Reno Fly Shop. An exceptional gentleman who I've always wanted to meet, Andy Burke, gave me the directions. I've read many of Andy's articles on fly-tying in California Flyfisher magazine. He's a great guy. I asked about buying one of his flies described in the April 2005 issue: "Andy's Craft Fur Swimmo". He didn't have any tied up so gave me his email - said to drop him a line and he would send me one. What a nice guy. Anyone visiting Reno, I would recommend dropping in and meeting him if you have a chance. No affiliation or anything, I just had a great visit and really appreciated the service I got. Jim Collins ------------ Fishing is not a matter of life or death. It's much more important than that!
