Hi Deborah, There is a picture of the pattern in Trey Combs book Steelhead Fly Fishing. It is pictured on plate #6. Pretty simple tie, you'll get the idea when you see the pattern. It's kinda like tying a big EHC, except with a deerhair tail and a deerhair body that is crisscross wrapped. I can send you a picture of one that is slightly chewed on if you don't have the book. I like to tie them kind of low water style on the front half of the hook. They ride low in the water and really wake well and float forever because of all the deerhair. Don't forget to put the hitch behind the collar, and in front of the wing.--Gerry

Do you have a pattern for the Bulkey Mouse?  Maybe just the book you found
it in would help.
Thanks,
Deb

Hi,
I don't post very often but this post caught my eye, since I just got back
from a steelhead trip to the Grande Ronde River in Washington, and have a
new favorite steelhead fly--a dry fly that works very well there. I had
originally tied these flies to use in BC but never did and they were still
in my steelhead box. The fly is a small (size 6) Bulkley Mouse. When hitched
in the proper place (behind the collar) they float and wake like a champ. On
this trip I caught my first dry fly steelies with a spey rod, what a thrill
to see the fly disappear in a swirl. I used a natural color one during the
day and a black one in the evening. I'm going to tie them with a small tuft
of pink on top, so I can track the fly better in choppy water. In my book
this fly is a definite winner!--Gerry Ichikawa
