That might be a good idea and also a "Flash Back" version of the same fly.
I bet they will all work.
I am tying several dozen of these flies for a friend on the west coast.
I might try some of these changes when I am finished with them.

Seriously though, Chuck --- What I've been using is the butt feather
fibers off a Ringneck Pheasant dyed black... I think the iridescence
of those fibers give it a little bit of a kick, so to speak...
