We've had good luck using Trout Streams of Northern New England by David Klausmeyer. then if you can find local shops, we just buy a couple of flies in exchange for the information gotten.

Thanks for all the replies so far. I'm getting excited. I don't know that I want to go striper fishing though - too many trout that I haven't caught...

Let's add to the question - any books recommended for the areas? What should I be tying to be ready?

    Hi Ed...

Burlington is pretty darn far away from me. But it wouldn't be
drastically out of your way to hit my place on your way from Boston
    to Burlington.

There are plenty of fishing opportunities in both NH and VT. The
Winooski has some prime spots and that is near Burlington.

The real treasure while you're in Boston may be hunting down the
stripers. I'll be on the Cape of Cod most of the two weeks starting
around June 12. It's quite possible that I could be cajoled into
showing you a few prime spots...;^)

The month prior to that will find me hanging close to the East Branch
of the Delaware. It might be harder prying those prime spots from me!

Please do try to plan a visit when your in the neighborhood.
