The solvent used in manufacure of Goop is toluene (sometimes called
toluol or methylbenzene). the stuff is not good for your liver
and is flammable (not as flammable as acetone). You should make
sure you use this material in a well ventilated area. A similar
adhesive is E-6000, which is essentially identical to Goop, but the
solvent is tetrachloroethylene, a solvent used in dry cleaning (also
not good for the liver). Others have used other mixtures of
solvent, but I've used toluene with good results.
