  They are far too delicate.  I always feel bad if one doesn't
make it.  In saltwater fishing if a fish dies it will be eaten before it
hits the bottom or shortly after.  The crabs love the scraps even the
seagulls love a free easy meal.  The fish will never go to waste.

Hi Deb;
  Im not sure about the rest of the states but here on Long Island (NY) I use to fly fish a lot at the Connectquot River and I wish I had a nickel for everytime I was stripping in a small trout it got hit by a big ole brown,,so much for delicate,,,maybe a delicacy LOL.
  I do some saltwater fly fishing also,,even for fluke,, but weakfish and stripers are the best. I dont keep them, everything gets released even the keeper stripers,which kind of annoyed some of the other so called sportsmen on the boat.Its amazing that in this day some of them still dont believe in catch and release. unless you want one for the table. Fluke is about the only one I will keep and one is it since really nobody else in the family has an interest in eating fish.
  I do like to fish salt or fresh,depends on the mood. In fact, I just loaded up my 6wgt hoping to hit Brady Park Lake before the big snow storm hits here today.
Well have a great weekend

and careful in the snow
