Jerry

I just remembered …  I bought Steve the GLX for his birthday in February.  I think it’s a 10 wt though.  I haven’t tried casting it.  I don’t think he’s going to share it yet so I will just have to use the Powell until it breaks on us.

I’ll probably keep my 8ft Gloomis Cross Current  for boat fishing.  I was thinking of trading it in but I hear it’s a pretty popular rod for using on a boat?  It was a guide that offered to trade it for me.  What’s your opinion????

Regards,

Deb

Deb,

8ft or 8wt ??.   I have not used the new Crosscurrent, but have heard RAVE reviews.
Several guys in my club have them and LOVE them.

As I mentioned, I am on the Temple Fork program so  I get all my rods from them.
And I really think they have revolutionized the rod business.
I would not buy a more expensive rod than a TFO.

At show and exhibitions, I still get to try the competitors.  I cannot find
a performance difference between the TFO's and rods that would justify
spending  twice as much and more.  $249 vs $600+ for the top end
Sage and Loomis.

OTOH, if you already own a more a GLX  more power to you.  I have
used the GLX 10 wt with shooting heads and was very pleased with the rod.

As usual, this all just my humble opinion, your mileage may vary.
