Same bird as the Montezuma but that's what it looks like to me....
Now why do they give these birds three different common names and then names
no one has a chance of pronouncing???

It looks like a Mearns Quail.

Subject: [Norton AntiSpam] [VFB] Need identification help... (re-send)

(Trying again. Last try 50 mins ago didn't go through, but my reply to Ronan
took only seconds.)

Hi all...

... especially all who consider themselves "Birdiologists".
I need help to identify a bird species.

Skin picture on:

The breast feathers look a bit like Montezuma Quail. The wing
quill pattern has some similarities too. But on every picture of the bird
that I've found, I see a lot of white in the center and around the wing
quills... which I don't see on the skin. On pictures of the Texas Quail I've
seen, the wing quills look more similar... but instead they don't have these
white spotted breast feathers. Is it a mutation?

I HATE having material labeled "???" in my boxes... so if any of you know
what bird this is I'd be very grateful for info.

Thanks In Advance,
/Nick
