we wre metricised in '72...
one inch = 25.4 mm approx.
We get imperial and metric stuff here..
Beads come in the following sizes here
2.5mm
3mm
4mm
4.5mm (there are sometimes some in between...s)
3/32 (2.5mm)
1/8 (3mm approx)
5/32 (4mm approx)
generally I use 3 and 4mm beads (1/8, 5/32s)
Bead head nymphs I tie #14s with 3mm beads,
#12s with 3 or 4mm beads
#10s with 4mm beads..

I'm
using the wrong sized bead on the wrong sized hook.. I'll adjust
both sizes and
see how they do..I normally tie My Chilies on #8's too,
but I think the beads
I've been using are only about 2mm... and I have
some 1/8" I think it is..
Probably about 5-6 mm???? And they go over the
hook eye...So , I'll have to
order some beads between those two sizes
and maybe they will slip over the size
8 hooks. Proper Proportions (or
judging them) has always been one of my
weak points in tying...I
guess though, since I have only been at it less than a
yr, just takes
more "sperience" as we say in Bama..Thanks
