Jimmy,
I was in the same predicament you're in and my wife found a web site somewhere, (I've got it but can't find it at the moment), about building a "PVC" tubing, square cube/box... Using one inch PVC tubing and corners, do not glue the tubing to the corners... That way it can be portable and you can make any size cube/box you want...  It's also strong enough to hold 3 or 4 of those clamp-on lamps, the kind you can get at "Home Depot" for about $4 or $5 dollars and has the silver aluminum lamp shades...  I use 4 lamps with 60 watt bulbs.. That way it doesn't get too hot and it doesn't give ANY shadows...  As soon as I can find that web site I'll send it to you...

Subject: [VFB] Photographing Flies

Dumb Question, but my Old Daddy told me, "Son, if you don't know the answer, your question ain't dumb!"

So, here's my question:  I have hundreds of flies that I've received from fly swaps over the years and I want to display some of them on my website, along with the fly  name and the tyer's name.  The problem is that I get SHADOWS on every photo I take of a fly mounted in my vise.  When I lay them down on a flat surface, no shadow, but the flies appear flattened and just don't look as good.

I know it has to do with the background and lighting, HELP !
