Whenever I gave my wife a break by taking the kids fishing, I became "Hero 
Dad".  Enjoy these days.  My son never really took to fishing, but he enjoyed 
catching newts and frogs along the shoreline.  My rule of thumb was that if 
everybody returned safe and happy it was a great outing.
