Ian,
I have a flyfishing friend that just can't seem to
catch many fish on the CP. He has no confidence in the
fly. We were fishing together one day and I was
catching trout almost one after another. Bob could not
seem to get a hit. He stood next to me and did what I
did but still caught nothing. I finally told him he
had to learn to do the "Chili Pepper Stroll". (this is
a joke)
He only took one trout in the same time I took 33. He
still talks about it. Another time we were fishing
Buffalo shoals and Bob was not doing real well. I was
having a good day with the Pepper. I finally got Bob
to tie one of mine on and he did take 8 trout on it.
Bob is a better flyfisherman that I will ever be.
I guess I will have to send you a couple of the ones I
tie.
I think I have your snail mail. Maybe you should send
it to me off list.

If you remember back a couple of months. I tied up
some Orange Chilli Peppers. Well I like Orange flies
for winter (yes it is winter here in the Southern
Hemisphere).

Well I tied a bunch, and on Saturday I went fishing we
3 fellow fly fishers. I gave each of the guys a few
flies, including the Orange Chilli Pepper.

It was pretty cold at the Lake, and very wet; it
rained all day. Water temp was 5 Degreees Celsius, but
the water felt warmer than the air.

Fairly new to fly fishing the lakes, one of the guys
listened eagerly to my story about the success of
Orange flies, and tied it straight on is leader. It
turned out to be a good choice; he had 3 Red Fin
(English Perch) in about 10 casts.

We all persisted with our flies for about an hour
while he continued to catch while we didnt. Pretty
soon everyone had the Orange Chilli Pepper tied on and
we were all fishing with confidence.

BY the end of the day, 5 browns and countless Perch
had been landed. BUT unfortunately I hooked NOTHING..
this is why I hate Chilli Peppers...
