But Jimmy,

I thought YOU was bein' goofy, posting about a parabolic rod.  I was going to respond about my elliptical rod.  Guess you wouldn't have liked that either.   Dr. D is workin' away now on a spiraled double-helix DNA rod.  So see, you ain't so special.

It's been in the 100's all week here.  We're getting buggy, or is that Buggsy?

Here we go again.  I put out a perfectly serious post about parabolic rods and you Yae Hoos turn it into your personal Comedy Store.  If it's jokes you want to send me, why not join the JFTD, ( joke for the day) club.   Otherwise, put a muzzle on your alter egos.   However, with this being a LONG hot summer, even in the great northwest, I'll forgive you for being a little goofy.   :-) :-( ;-) :-P :-D :-\

P.S. I'm sure my above post will give your goofy alter egos something to talk about.  I don't get mad.  I just get even.

Rico, Don, Veronica, Buggs, Dr.D,  Dr.R, Dr. V., y'all
that's wrong, there are no parabolic flies in the market, Don didn't invent them till now.
We are talking about parachute flies, Buggs invented them 25 years ago while visiting Verionica and her sister Rico in Baja.
Parachute flies are used to drop heavy flies just into the mouth of a dorado!
Dr.Dimento has more details.
Don, all the best to your alter egos!

Jimmy,

With a parabolic rod, can one para-shoot the line well? Do you need some
parabolic flies for them? (parashoot flies with parabolic-cut wings)

Would it be good to have a pairabolic rods, in case one broke?

"It takes a while to get used to a parabolic rod. They'll also throw
more line than a regular fly rod. A parabolic will definitely make you a
better caster, for to cast one properly, you have to slow your casting
stroke down. This in itself will improve your casting."
