I use two upright chests, one a 7 drawer and the other a 5 drawer. Also line the bottoms with cedar shavings in each drawer and have never had a problem with bugs getting into the hackle. I also use cedar shavings for pet bedding material because they are good at controlling odor and have some natural insecticidal properties (they kill or repel bugs). cedar shavings smell nice due to the volatile compounds (e.g. aromatic hydrocarbons, phenols) that are given off. Jimmy,
How often do you have to change the cedar shavings,,,,,not in the pet bed,,,but in the hackle draw. I'm one of those mothball fanatics and everytime I open one of the drawers the whole house complains about the smell.
