Byard, I have subscribed to this list for quite a few years and truly enjoy
it. I have learned a lot and participated in many of the swaps and have
truly enjoyed most of the discussions.
Sure, sometimes the topic gets off track, but use of the "DELETE" key is the
simple solution. Heck, I am even sometimes ignored, but life has helped me
develop a thick skin and just get over it. Heck, even my wife ignores me
sometimes.
I for one would really hate to see this list end and would hope that it
would for the most part stay related to fly tying and fly fishing.
Cheers, beers and tight lines and keep your stick on the ice!!!
George

Folks: I saw where Lord Byron Nelson passed away today (yesterday now)
at 94 (one site I read said he was 95 so I'm not sure). Many would
consider him the all time greatest golfers with 18 wins with 11
consecutive wins in 1945..That got me to thinking.. We have some great
and long time tiers here. Who would ya'll say is the best ever fly
tier??? I know I'll probably get as many answers as I get replies LOL,
but I just wondered if there is somebody that stands out in many
minds??? Or how bout , who was/is the greatest fly fisherman/woman

I used to be quite proud of this VFB mail list. What happened?
Today a post was made...a good post... it attempted solicitation of
comments and thoughts that actually pertained to fly tying. I was really
looking forward to the discussion. Thanks Paul M for a most lucid
reply... sadly, yours was the only one. All other replies turned a viable
topic into a "good-ole-boy" diatribe...a much too frequent occurrence of
late.
At the top of this note you will find a request for unsubscribing
instructions. I don't blame him. If this wasn't my list, I'd be gone. I
see two to three new subscribers daily... and the same number of folks
bailing by unsubscribing daily. Why... because the group has become very
closed and familial. Yes, over the years we've all come to know each
other but for this list to continue we must strive to accept new members.
I don't currently have the time or energy to be the tyrant landlord of
the list. If someone would like to step up to the position please raise
your hand.
As the list currently stands, I can't envision a need for it to continue
in it's present form. So what do we do? Suggestions?
I'll start...
Biggie... refocus on fly tying/fishing.
...you guys continue the discussion...
