this is very interesting stuff! any recomendations for Still Water? Mike, here are a few suggestions for fishing streamers: 1) relax, many people I fish with hate streamers because they find them hard to cast, or they can't see the strike. I love streamers, I usually get larger Fish then my friends and I love the hard hitting strike of a large trout on a streamer. 2) experiment, try different techniques and flies. But most of all 3) Hold on, when they strike they Strike. my favorite flies are: a Kiwi Muddler; a muddler minnow; egg sucking Leech; a marabou leech; and a little fly I call the irresitible Ed Smith Special (details on this Fly can be requested by emailing me). Mike,

There are many on this list that can help you with specifics, say tailwater streamer tactics, but we must know the type of water you want to fish and the target fish- species and size.

Then, there's conventional wisdom (books) vs. unconventional wisdom. An oversized streamer with a small trailer hook catches a lot of fish in certain situations.

  List:

I consider myself an above average nymph fisherman, adequate dry fly fisherman and I stink as a streamer fisherman. I have a goal this year to raise that aspect of my flyfishing. Can any of you recommend an excellent book on the subject where I can at least get the concepts more clear in my mind? Thanks.

  Mike
