Folks: Yesterday it was 74 and Sunny here, so I went fishing, and for the
second trip in as many weeks I didn't even get a nibble... Problem is, the fish
are GONE LOL..I used my fish finder to look for fish in the shallows, in the
deep, on points, in coves, and hardly saw any fish big or small on the fish
finder...Now, this watershed is at least 2-3 thousand acres, so there is no
way I covered it al, but like I said, i fished everyway I knew how.. I even
trolled a grub tailed jig, hoping to pick up a crappie... My question is this..
I figure that the fish are deep as the thermocline(sp) has switched and the
warmer water is now deep and the colder water now shallow.. Could it be that
the fish are right near the muddy bottom, and my cheap fish finder is just not
picking them up???? Any suggestions as to where the fish may be??? In past
years, I'd just fish for crappie at the river with live minnows in the Winter
time..But, I don't want to do that.. I know that there are some "slab" crappie
in these waters. I just cannot find them...Thanks, Chuck
