Has anyone been fishing in Maryland this week? I've got the pleasure of introducing my doctor to fly fishing. He's from LA, and has fished all his life, but this will be the first time fly fishing. I'm going to teach him the whole thang. :)
I want him to catch a fish on the first cast or so, and a blue gill will do. Does anyone know of a good public access lake in Northern Virginia, and then a good trout stream in the same area. Small mouths will do, but trout would be great. I figure to teach him casting over a lake, and then go to the stream with it's special opportunities. I love this guy. As most of you who have been on the list for long already know, weekends are the slowest on the VFB for posts. Many of us, (the fortunate ones), are out fishing However, some of us can't fish because of the weather, so we post. You can almost tell by the posts, what section of the country they're from by the amount of traffic. A lot of traffic from the "snowed in" folks this last week or so. Then, some of you blamed this grumpy old man for cutting down on the posts. Really Now! We had a flurry of traffic from Wednesday through Friday and everybody pretty much behaved themselves.
