Chuck,
No, that's not Furry Foam, though that would work well in this
situation. It's actually foam they ship computer harddrives on. I
used to be a computer geek in a former career and always had a steady
supply of it and I rarely had to cut it down for thickness.

Garry: Is that the "furry foam"??? I saw Lefty Kreh tying a crayfish
similar using the "furry foam" he called it.. and I found a piece
of it today.. I cannot wait to give it a try... I also have a
material that I found today that ppl here might be interested in,
and some of you have the same material I bet... It would be great
for any shellback material, from a crawfish, stonefly, you name
it... I have chronic low back pain, and must use (among other
things) these patches called "Lidoderm" which have lidocaine in
them... And the backing that you peel off and throw away is a clear
hard plastic, or Mylar, and had a tiny diamond pattern stamped into
it.. It looks to me that each side of the diamonds would measure
about 1.5 mm. And, I colored some of this today with perm markers,
and it works great too..Anyway, I have been throwing these plastic
pieces away, but it dawned on me after using a patch today.. The
patches are about 4" X 6" and would tie 100 crawfish or other
shellbacks or more...Or, they would make good wings on flies..
Specially this foam stonefly that I caught a ton of bluegills on the
last two seasons.. Anybody who wants one to try, let me know and
I'll start sending them out as I use the patches.. No pun intended,
but "my pain is your gain" LOL...If you use these patches.. Check
out this the next time you peel one.. Chuck

After sending Allan, a copy of the pictures I took earlier today,
he said they were clear enough for him to get the idea of what I
was talking about. So here are the links:
