Ahhhh.. That thread bump idea sounds good to Me, cause that has been the 
hardest part for me.. Getting the figure eight's started. while trying to hold

  I like to put a drop of CA glue on the figure 8 wraps after the first few to 
help hold the dumbell eyes to the hook shank. Also, making a "saddle" from 2 
thread bumps to place the eyes between is a good way to help manage the 
placement of those eyes and minimize sliding.

  It is Chuck, very easy......a bit time consumming.......but one thing will 
really help that. when you do the eyes, make absolutely sure that you not only 
figure 8 them, but that you also do wraps underneath them, VERY tight, above 
the hook shank. Don't underneath the hook shank when doing those wraps. They 
are to "lock-in" your figure 8 wraps, and should be done extremely tight. If 
you do them correctly, you won't need near as many figure 8 wraps.....thereby 
saving time. And stagger those wraps, figure 8's, underneaths, figure 8's, 
underneaths, etc., etc....... mark
