Chuck:
See http://www.warmwaterflytyer.com/welcome.asp
Most of the flies here are designed just for that purpose - big gills as
well as bass, crappie, smallies, etc. Good site, a lot of good info and
tying instruction.

i tied most of my flies on size 10-16 hooks.. And, the bass flies are tied

guess you could
Hey Chuck,
Alot of bass and panfish flies are trout flies just tied on a larger
hook.
Even on saltwater I've caught stripers, blues and weakfish on wooley buggers
tied on a 3/0, 2/0. and brown trout on clouser minnows tied down to a # 10.
My
colors I use on clousers that small are combinations of white and chartruse,
brown and white, olive and white, and some of them with a splash of pearl
krystal flash in the middle. I did tie a fire tiger small clouser then put
stripes
on it with a marker for a small perch look but haven't gotten it wet yet.
