Not necessarily. Aeration is much more important than water temps. Good trout ponds have lots of aeration devices. Unless hot spells last very long, trout can survive in well aerated water. They WILL become very lethargic; they can be caught under circumstances like that, but it won't help their survival, plus they don't put up anything even remotely resembling a fight...
