Pete,
I use regular contact cement cut about 50% with acetone (the bottle with the
dauber works great for this). Coat both sides of the foam to be joined and let
dry (at least 30 minutes). Repeat application of cement and let dry again.
When dry, carefully stick pieces together then pound with a hammer until it is
totally bonded. The thinned cement works better but needs the repeated
applications. Repeat with additional pieces of foam until you get the desired
thickness of laminated foam. I learned this trick in a Fly Tyer mag from about
a year and a half ago in an article about some really cool bees. Takes some
time to laminate the foam but it is waterproof and will NOT come apart if you
do it right. The joint does have some flexibility so you do not end up with a
concrete block like using super glue type products. Hope this helps.

What do you suggest for gluing together sheets of the 2mm thick foam
(similar to the stuff you can get at "Wal-Far...err... Mart")? Nail polish
soaks in but doesn't bond, while CA (super-glue- like, just not name brand)
glue warps the foam.
